BABY BOOMER EXERCISE MYTHS - Below are 5 excuses I often hear. For more information like this make sure you follow us over on the RPT Facebook page =>
- “It’s Too Late to Start”- Even if you have never worked out before, it is never too late!
- "Too Frail"- This is a reason you should be exercising, not a reason for not exercising. Studies show that safe strength training will strengthen your bones and decrease the chance of falling.
“I Have Joint Pain, so I Should Stay Away from Exercise” – the opposite is true. Studies show that exercise is a must for people with joint pain and arthritis. It will reduce joint stiffness and pain.
“I’m Too Old for Weight Training” – Strength training is more important as you age! It will help prevent osteoporosis. As long as you avoid dangerous exercises for your body, strength training will improve every area of your life. We focus on functional strength training.
“I need to focus on My Mind, Not My Body” – Studies show exercise improves brain health, helps prevent and slow the progression of dementia. Exercise will also reduce stress and anxiety.
