Tips for keeping your New Year’s resolutions
Setting your intentions and goals is key, but keeping them is the only way you truly benefit. So, we’re sharing tips to help you stick to your 2021 resolutions.
1. Set a resolution you’re actually excited about. Don’t force a resolution because it sounds good, is trendy, or your friends are doing it. If it doesn’t excite you at all, then the chance of following through on it is slim to none.
2. Be specific. Spell out your exact resolution, don’t just speak it out loud or say it in your head. When you have to write something down, you usually include details. The more specific you are, the better your plan of action becomes.
3. Be patient with the process. Rome wasn’t built in a day and beach bodies don’t manifest overnight. Anything that’s worth having or achieving takes some time. Allow yourself time, be patient, and trust in the process.
4. Track your progress. Sometimes it’s hard to remember the progress you’re making. So write down your progress every week. This exercise will remind you that you’re one step closer to your fulfilling your resolution.
5. Have an accountability partner. Accomplishing any task or goal is much easier when you have someone to check in with. You and your partner can motivate and encourage one another to stay on track. And you can pick one another up when things get tough.
6. Know your ‘why’. You probably know what you want to do differently or better in the new year, by why is that goal important to you? If you can answer this question quickly and easily, you’ll find the goal more worthwhile and achievable.
