**This is one of my favorite articles ever! Rachel does an amazing job of showing (with pics) that going out and running for 20 hours a week is no where near as good as a well planned strength training program when it comes to body composition.

One of my major goals is to make women realize that the key to improving body composition is strength training. It will not make you bulky! Strength training as in
pushing yourself to get stronger with heavy weights (all relative). Just going out and running, doing cardio, is not going to work. If you are not prepared for those runs you will just end up injured anyway.
I am not killing off cardio. I am just saying if you are a cardio queen and/or just doing the machine circuit its time to find a new plan. A sensible plan that helps you build a foundation with great technique. A plan that focuses on lifting heavier weights
with a sensible progression scheme.
