Injured from a popular gym/program?!
A large percentage of our members come to us after getting injured at other gyms. Just because a
program is popular does not mean it’s good for you! Below are a few ways to avoid making this mistake.
People that are already “in shape” influence the actions of those who are not. In most cases, you can probably learn a thing or two. But copying exactly what they do is usually a mistake. We are all different. Different goals, injuries, experiences, and the list
goes on and on.
A lot of these people who are “in shape” did not use those gyms or methods to get to that point. That required a lot of hard work over time. Some also have very good genetics. Either way, they put some consistent work in.
A lot of your fitness role models survive dumb training methods. Surviving a dumb training program and making progress are very different. Go run 5 miles, do a million burpees, and then do a cool exercise on a balance board. Yeah, that is not smart. But a lot of people will copy programs like this in order to fit in or belong. Some actually think it leads to results. Nope, just injuries and frustration.
Keep these things in mind……
Your fitness journey is not a competition with other people.
Research trainers and programs. Lots of overnight certified trainers out
there. Lots of big businesses that just want your money.
Try out multiple places and see what works for you
If the place does not offer to do a free 1 on 1 consultation to see what service is the best fit for you, it’s not
personal training. It’s not group personal training.
