More flexibility and mobility work?!
Do you need more flexibility and mobility work? The answer is almost always yes!
Everyone
needs it! Especially those of us who are getting a little older :) You might have been able to get away without doing much in the past. If you are anything like me, those days are long gone.
Treat it like an important part of your workout! Do not skip over it! I hate to see people skip over the warm up and cool down. The same people end up getting injured all the
time and wonder why.
We start Every single session with a dynamic warm up to improve flexibility and mobility. The perfect way to get the heart rate up, warm up, and improve flexibility and mobility. Studies show this works better as a warm up when compared to static stretching.
We end every session with static flexibility work. This is your traditional reach out and hold for a designated time. This can also be done before a session, but works better at the end when you're warm.
We have some clients who we have do more soft tissue work.
Think foam rolling and other massage tools to help you loosen up.
Combining dynamic, static, and soft tissue work is the best way to improve flexibility and mobility. You do not need a lot of time to improve. You need to be consistent. Long sessions are not required, but make sure you are not racing through it.
