Can you believe we are close to November?!
The last quarter of the year can be a challenge when it comes to reaching your fitness goals. Lots of traveling, holiday parties, and the cold weather makes you want to stay inside!
Today we will give you advice on how to stay on track and make progress during this crazy time of the year!
Stop being a perfectionist! -
“I missed Monday and Wednesday, so I will just get back on track next Monday”
“I ate horrible at the party Friday! I will go back to my diet on
Monday”
“I will just start back up in January”
Perfectionists will have a hard time making long term progress! They will end up being perfect for
two weeks, and then off the plan completely for 4 weeks!
During this time of the year it’s important to focus on doing the best you can! Of course you need a plan, but it has to be flexible.
If you enter the season saying you will eat perfectly, you will just end up binging on sweets at some point. Getting in one to two sessions during a crazy week is better than doing nothing.
Plan for the party!
Yes, you can still go to the party! I strongly encourage you to! This is a time to be around family and friends and
enjoy yourself!
But you need a plan! For most people foods belong in these 3 categories …
“I don’t even like this food! I am just overeating
because it’s here!” - These are the first foods you can remove to reduce some calories!
“I love this food! I can not do without it!” - I suggest you eat these foods, but don’t go crazy on the portions.
“This food is actually healthy! And I love it!”- You need to eat more of these foods. Eat them first so you are not as hungry! Try to make sure you have had plenty of lean protein, water, and fiber before going to the party!

Do you hate cold weather?
I know I do! But this does not mean you can get lazy! If you are good with getting in the steps when it’s nice , but bad when it gets cold, consider joining a gym! If you are not a fan of long term contracts, consider our month to month, 3 month, or pay by session options!
You still need to get
outside to get the benefits! So get your cold weather gear ready!
Now! Not the New Year!
Get started now! People who start during the holidays do better than those who wait until the “perfect” time! If you wait until January you are just losing 10 lbs you would have never put on in the first place. Yes, sometimes progress is not going backward!
